Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a house with a combined gross family earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic income doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and want not post any evidence of income.

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 nsfas application 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to study in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing nsfas check of their application.
